H1N1
Vaccine Update
December 6, 2009
Our office has received some of the H1N1 vaccine and we are
now making appointments for vaccination.
We ask that you call the office after 10:00 am so that we
may be able to better handle the high volume of sick calls we
receive first thing in the morning.
Appointments made for the H1N1 vaccination are nurse visits.
If your child is sick or you have other concerns you wish to
discuss with the physician, you must schedule a separate
appointment during regular business hours. However, if your
child is already scheduled for a well child appointment or is
seeing the doctor for another issue, they may be able to
receive the H1N1 vaccine at that time so long as they are not
sick with a fever.
We do not have enough vaccine to offer doses to parents or
other family members. We will only be vaccinating our patients.
We also received some Nasal vaccine for our patients who are
2 years or older and have no history of asthma.
If your child is due for the second dose of H1N1 vaccine, it
is recommended that it be given 1 month or longer after the
first dose was given. If your child received the first dose
elsewhere, please bring us the date that your child received
the first dose so that we may enter it into their medical
record.
Thank you for your patience and
understanding as we try our best to implement this vaccination
while still continuing to be available for routine well child
and sick patient care.
